Pneumococcal bacteria are commensal to the lungs. Their purpose is to ensure sufficient oxygen perfusion. In instances of prolonged sickness, complications from other illnesses, or weakened vitality, these bacteria can overpopulate in attempts to keep the spirit embodied. 

 

This HPx Program is designed to reduce the development of pneumonia as a complication from other disease processes and to mitigate suspected cases. It can be used in conjunction with any other HPx program where the disease may progress to pneumonia
